Preserving the History of Rising Sun  




The Rising SunHisotrical Preservation Commision is a non-profit (501c3) historical society located in Cecil County, Maryland.

Our purpose is,

"To preserve, restore, maintain and operate historical, aesthetic and cultural properties, buildings, fixtures, furnishins and appurtenances in Rising Sun, Cecil County, State of Maryland; to foster the preservation, advancement and welfare of Rising Sun, and to encourage the appreciation therefor by the general public; and to encourage others to do so."

 

Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Rising Sun Town Hall. Town Hall is located on the corner of Main & Queen Street, in the heart of historic Rising Sun.  All meetings are open to the general public and you are encouraged to attend!

Museum Hours

The Museum is currently housed on the third floor of Town Hall.  The Museum is open the second Friday, and the following Sunday from 1-4 p.m., for special events as announced and by appointment.
